You cannot place a television in every area of your home. And at times it can be inconvenient to leave your position to go and watch the television where it is at. What you could use is a way to watch TV wherever you are in your house. Fortunately for subscribers of Cablevision, this is possible through Optimum.
Cablevision has recently released an application that lets iPhone and iPod owners stream live television on their handheld devices. The app is called Optimum and is the next version of a similar app released by Cablevision for iPad in April.

Optimum is available from iTunes for free. The app is sized at 7.7 MB and works with iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad running version 4.0 or later of iOS. Cablevision subscribers can use the app to stream live television onto their device. Adding to this feature is the ability of the app to view on-demand movies and browse subscriptions on demand categories.

Parental controls remain intact on the application. Thus you can hand let your children use the app without worrying the content they will watch.

Additionally the app can act as a remote control for the televisions in your home. You can use the device Optimum is installed on to control the digital cable boxes in your home. You can also use the app to schedule recordings, delete recordings, search your shows, and browse TV listings in your area.

With all these features and many more, Optimum provides Cablevision users with a convenient way to watch television on their iOS device. And as mentioned above, the app also is a wonderful way to remotely control the cable boxes of Cablevision you have in your house.

Surely for Cablevision subscribers who own iOS devices, this iOS application will bring wonderful convenience. You can get Optimum from Here.
Other Interesting Stuff

Live streaming TV has been available on iPhones with the Slingbox app for some time. This just requires a subscriber-specific piece of rented hardware rather than a service-agnostic hardware purchase.
From what I understand, Dish network also has “SlingLoaded” DVRs, which I would assume are also compatible with iPhone. I wouldn’t know that for sure since we don’t have one of those, but the iPhone app combined with our slingbox definitely allows us to watch our Comcast cable live thru 3G anywhere.
